Mirror Site

A mirror site is a website or web page that is an exact replica of another site or page.

They are typically created for various purposes, such as increasing the availability of a high-traffic website, providing a backup in case the original site goes down, or circumventing geographical restrictions.

However, in the context of SEO, mirror sites can lead to duplicate content issues. Search engines, like Google, view duplicate content as a negative factor when ranking websites, as it can confuse crawlers and dilute the value of the original content.

To avoid potential SEO issues, it’s important to implement the correct canonical tags or use the “noindex” directive to signal search engines which version of the content to index.
